Teachers are asked to take a few minutes and participate in the Home Base (Schoolnet) Instructional Materials and Assessment Survey. The purpose of this survey is to gather information about teachers’ knowledge, use, and perception of the quality of the instructional materials and classroom assessment items in Schoolnet.
It is understoond that there is a wide range of use of Schoolnet. Whether teachers have used the materials or not, the information they provide through this survey will be very useful for helping NCDPI communicate with other teachers about the system and will provide some important baseline data. The survey should take between 5 and 15 minutes to complete, depending on the teacher’s use of Schoolnet. All responses are confidential.

Over the summer 14 students participated in the Carver Summer Reading program. Each student read a book, wrote a report and created a project. As a reward, these students were invited on a special field trip to Discovery Kids in Rockingham, where they participated in weather/science experiments. The students were treated to lunch at Pizza Hut followed by a trip to The Hive, where they had open gym to play basketball, volleyball, ride bikes and play games. A great time was had by all!

Congratulations to the Carver football team who finished the regular season undefeated and are Eastern Division Champs. Lead by Coach McLean, the Eagles shut out every team in the regular season except one. The Eagles lost a close game to Rockingham Middle to end the season as runner-ups in the Conference. We’re proud of those Eagles!!
